Mumbai’s win in the last ball, Delhi’s 4th loss in a row– In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai Indians won their first win of the season by defeating Delhi Capitals in the last ball on Tuesday.
After the first win, Mumbai has collected 2 points from 3 matches. Delhi lost by 6 wickets at their home ground Arun Jaitley Stadium and suffered their fourth defeat in a row. Only Delhi is winless in the ongoing season.
Delhi’s target of 173 runs was completed by Mumbai in the last ball. While only five runs were required for victory in the last over, Delhi’s Enrique Norcia conceded only 3 runs in the first five balls and Mumbai needed 2 runs in the last ball to win the match. In which Tim David took two runs and gave Mumbai the victory.
The team scored 13 unbeaten runs in 11 balls. For Mumbai, captain Rohit Sharma scored 65 runs off 45 balls, hitting 6 fours and 4 sixes. Tikal Barma added 41 runs and Ishan Kisan added 31 runs. Suryakumar Yadav, who continued his bad form, was dismissed for zero.
Cameron Green scored an unbeaten 17 off 8 balls.
Delhi’s Mukesh Kumar took 2 wickets and Mustapizar Rahman took 1 wicket.
Before that, Delhi lost the toss and batted first and scored 172 runs with 2 balls remaining. Akshar Patel hit 4 fours and 5 sixes in 25 balls and scored the highest 54 runs for Delhi. Captain David Warner scored 51 runs off 47 balls. Manis Pandey scored 26 runs.
