I made a lot of mistakes after buying Twitter, the company is now on the brink : Musk- American billionaire Elon Musk has said that he had a different experience when he bought Twitter for about 44 billion US dollars and ran it for 6 months. In an interview with BBC’s James Clayton, which was also broadcast live through Twitter space on Wednesday, he admitted that he had made many mistakes and rejected the accusation that hate speech has increased on the social network.
It is to be remembered that a few months ago, Twitter claimed to have closed nearly 4 lakh accounts to make its social network platform more secure. During the conversation, Musk mentioned that they are constantly trying to remove misleading information on Twitter.
Musk said that even if someone brings an offer to buy Twitter at the price he bought it, he will reject it. “I don’t care about money,” Musk said, “It’s impossible to find a buyer like me who values truth more than accounting for how much they paid.” But when asked why he tried to cancel the purchase offer at that time, Musk commented that Twitter would have sunk in a few months if he hadn’t bought it. He claimed that since 2012, the company has managed to make a profit only for 2 years. He claimed that his team will retire about 6,500 people and cut extensive expenses as well as new efforts.
In response to Twitter’s removal of more than 50 tweets related to a BBC documentary on Indian Prime Minister Modi, Musk said that he was not aware of the matter, but India’s social media laws were very strict and there was no choice but to comply. “We don’t have the facility to violate the laws of any country,” Musk said, “If the only option is to send our employees to jail or follow the law, we choose the latter.”
Musk, who communicated in his traditional carefree and informal style, said that he voted for US President Joe Biden, that he was not against artificial intelligence, but in favor of its regulation. He even said that he made his dog the CEO of the company after a Twitter poll. He also claimed that Twitter is still the first choice for breaking news and to make it the best network, he has taken decisions including Twitter ‘Blue’.
