The government has banned unnecessary development of software in government agencies.

The meeting of the secretaries held on August 5 has decided not to allow the random software to be built, concluding that unnecessary expenses are being incurred while building the software under various pretexts.

This decision has been taken because it raises questions about the security of important government information and personal information of service users.

As the government bought the software without any preparation and discussion, now the National Payment Gateway system costing about 25 million rupees is not operational and in use. The Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission is currently investigating the software purchased by the National Information Technology Center.

Not only this, now the contractor company IDEMIA is refusing to give the source code of the National Identity Card Management System software, which contains important personal information of citizens. While he claims that software as his intellectual property, important government software is under the control of foreign companies.

In order to transfer and distribute the assets and liabilities of institutions, committees, boards and other bodies mentioned in the policies and programs and budgets of the current financial year to be abolished, merged or restructured, the relevant ministry in coordination with the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration and the Ministry of Finance will make concrete decisions by the end of next August. The meeting also decided to prepare a blueprint and implement it in a timely manner.
