Facebook’s Mau company Meta has introduced an AI tool for writing code

Facebook’s Mau company Meta has released Code Llama, an AI tool based on the Large Language Model (LLM) called Llama 2. Meta has brought this tool with the purpose of correcting the mistakes in the code and helping to write the code.

Meta said that using the license of Lama Tool, this tool will be provided free of charge for study, research and commercial purposes. It has the ability to create code strings based on the prompt written by the user, and debug the code. Meta has released its specialized version as ‘Code Llama Python’ and ‘Code Llama Instruct’. Code Lama Instruct can understand instructions in natural language, but cannot switch between these versions, says Meta.

Meta believes that this tool will increase the capacity of developers and play a role in making their work more effective. Meta claims that Code Lama has performed well in benchmark tests on LLM provided to the public.

Meta also said that it will bring three different sizes of code. According to Meta, the smallest model for small and fast projects will run on a single graphics processing unit (GPU).

Recently, there has been a wave of developing such code generators. GitHub’s Copilot, Amazon’s Code Whisper, Google’s Alphacode are some examples. Click here to learn more about Meta’s Code Lama .
